In my last post I shared about why some “ME TIME” is also important in life. And today, I will share about my favorite “ME TIME” activities. I do these when I spare some time alone amidst my work life, busy schedules and hectic personal and professional life:
1. Writing in a journal
One of the things I do when I spend some time alone is, I write in a journal what all I am feeling. I pour my whole heart out and then tear those papers into pieces and throw them in a dustbin. You won’t believe but by doing so I become so light that I feel all the burden of the world is off my shoulders. I gain confidence, power, positivity, hope, to go back to the normal life with required energy, enthusiasm. I become ready to happily move ahead in life.
2. Having a facial, massage, foot bath
Usually, we go to spa, saloons when we have to attend some functions at home or in friends. But do you know having spa, facial, foot bath, body massage in any ordinary day can help you relax, energize, relieve stress, and start fresh. A good facial and massage treatments has soothing effects on your body, which in turn helps in relaxing your mind, neck, face muscles, scalp. In other words, it helps you relax your overall being.
3. Drinking Tea or Coffee and Reading a Book
I am telling you nothing beats the joy you can get reading a book and enjoying your tea or coffee with it. You already know how tea/coffee helps you energize yourself. Similarly, when you read a book, you get distracted from your original world and go to some other world, and when you come back, your whole perspective towards life changes and you become more willing to do things. Now, you can guess, how deadly can be the combination of tea and a book. Hahaa..
4. Sleeping! Sleeping! Sleeping
To rejuvenate ourselves, and get back to all it happy and fresh, the best we can do is sleep. A sound sleep helps us declutter what we have in mind and heart, and we feel relax when we wake up. A sound sleep takes us to a different world and when we wake up for a while we do not remember anything of the past, and in that time we are able to relax and gather focus on what is happening around us and a clear perspective on how to move ahead. Hence, sleep is my favorite pastime.
5. Watering plants, spending time in nature
According to many studies, spending some time in nature, watering the plants, gardening, talking a walk in the garden, can help us feel good, positive, calm, composed, hopeful, confident, boost productivity, enhance our coming days. :)
6. Going Creative
The one thing we must never leave in life is creativity. Being creative opens our mind, makes us less judgmental, help us develop a clear perspective on life, and become a better person. Creativity bring to limelight our hidden talents and potential and in the long run help us become more successful in life.
7. Listening to music
One of my most favorite activities when I am alone is listening to music. When I listen songs of my choice, I get so good vibrations that I feel like there is no problem in the world, everything is fine. I feel out of the world, I feel like dancing. A ray of such positivity and hope runs into my veins that I feel the most happiest person in the world!
8. Watching my favorite Netflix show/ TV show/ movie
We learn from everything in life and from everywhere. No matter what we are doing and what we are not, we learn from everything. Hence, when we watch our favorite shows, we learn something from them also. And the more we learn in life, the more we grow.
9. Going for a walk, running, doing yoga, meditating
I do walk since I was small. But when I started meditation, things weren’t that easy in the beginning. I used to hate doing it. But when I continued doing it, suddenly it became addictive. Today, there never goes a day I don’t meditate. As I spare 10-15 minutes daily in the morning for my meditation, I get all the energy to freshly start my day and be energetic the entire day.
10. Cooking healthy, eating healthy
Sometimes, you must also cook healthy and then eat it. You will feel good about yourself that you can cook so delicious. Also, when you feel eat healthy food, you will feel fresh, powerful, positive, energetic, and hence you can do better henceforth.
To Sum It Up..
So, these are my favorite pass time or say “ME TIME” activities. Well, when you will spare some “ME TIME” for yourself, you can also go for a swim, spend time with kids for they will bring your innocence back, solve riddle, puzzles, do art and craft, and soak up some sunshine.
Last but not the least, do whatever you want to, do what you like. But never forget to make out some “ME TIME” for yourself.
