Rescuing my Mermaid Friend

Saludos queridos amigos de Hive! Espero se encuentren de maravilla! El día de hoy he venido a mostrar mi última ilustración, esta vez estoy tratando de lograr un tipo de ilustración como la de los libros de cuentos infantiles, estuve todos estos días dibujando e imaginando diferentes escenarios hasta que, se me ocurrió una escena en la que un niño pequeño rescata a una sirena capturada por un pescado y la intenta llevar lo más rápido posible a su hogar.

Greetings dear friends of Hive! I hope you are feeling great! Today I've come to show you my latest illustration, this time I'm trying to achieve a kind of illustration like the one in children's story books, I've been all these days drawing and imagining different scenarios until, I came up with a scene in which a little boy rescues a mermaid captured by a fish and tries to take her as fast as possible to her home.

Para hacer esta ilustración comencé desde el dibujo tradicional, imaginando un escenario en el que el pequeño rueda una carretilla donde está posada la sirena, ella muy feliz porque puede vislumbrar su hogar y el niño asustado que puedan ser alcanzados por el pescador que quedo dormido en su cabaña.

To make this illustration I started from the traditional drawing, imagining a scenario in which the little boy rolls a wheelbarrow where the mermaid is perched, she very happy because she can glimpse her home and the boy scared that they might be caught by the fisherman who fell asleep in his hut.

Este dibujo lo pasé luego a digital, repitiendo las líneas que dibuje en mi boceto tradicional y definiendo con mayor detalle los elementos del paisaje de mi dibujo.

I then transferred this drawing to digital, repeating the lines I drew in my traditional sketch and defining in greater detail the elements of the landscape in my drawing.

Luego coloque los colores, elegí colores muy vistosos, con una paleta dominada por los colores cálidos.
Seguidamente procedí con el coloreado, use pinceles con bordes irregulares con opacidad media, mi intención en este dibujo era crear algo parecido a una acuarela con trazos de crayones, aun estoy en la búsqueda de perfeccionar este estilo, pero lo que pude lograr apenas hasta este punto me animo bastante.

Then I placed the colours, I chose very bright colours, with a palette dominated by warm colours.
Then I proceeded with the colouring, I used brushes with irregular edges with medium opacity, my intention in this drawing was to create something similar to a watercolour with crayon strokes, I am still in the search of perfecting this style, but what I could achieve just up to this point encouraged me quite a bit.

También quería agregar la mayor cantidad de detalles bonitos posibles a la carretilla le cuelgan algunas algas y algún que otro espécimen acuatico, por su parte el niño va debidamente preparado por si el clima cambia o si debe internarse en el agua.

I also wanted to add as many nice details as possible, the wheelbarrow has some seaweed and other aquatic specimens hanging on it, and the child is well prepared in case the weather changes or he has to go into the water.

Luego procedí a colorear el fondo, este era más sencillo en cuanto a detalles de color, pero disfrute mucho eligiendo que color le daría a cada uno y luego repasando las lineas del dibujo en diferentes todos para complementar un poco el juego de luces y sombras en esta parte.

Then I proceeded to colour the background, this one was simpler in terms of colour details, but I really enjoyed choosing which colour I would give to each one and then going over the lines of the drawing in different colours to complement the play of light and shadows in this part.

Fue una ilustración en la que disfrute bastante y me gustó mucho el resultado, estaré dibujando más partes de esta divertida historia, ojalá pueda mostrarlas pronto!

It was an illustration that I enjoyed a lot and I really liked the result, I will be drawing more parts of this funny story, hopefully I can show them soon!
