Multiverse theory complicates this story in all kinds of ways that made this issue/this series hard to write, but one thing it makes SIMPLER is the idea of paradoxes, such as the paradox potentially caused when meeting yourself.
I read "In Search Of The Multiverse" Back in 2013 or 2014, and my wonderment and awe at the concepts described in that book are what ultimately became the bedrock for much of this story. In an infinite multiverse you're not actually traveling back in time to meet a younger version of yourself, you're traveling to a parallel reality that is fairly close to the one you experienced, but is ultimately a distinctly different thread.
