Hey chess players and lovers of the game of chess,
Today was round 20 of the Saturday Hivechess Arena, and it was a tough fight for me against Odnoobraz. For a while, I was in the first-place position. Taking out each player that crossed my path, but I could not maintain it all to the end of the tournament. I lost the last two crucial games to Queenslayer due to a misclick and stuffings, who outplayed me in a berserk match.

For this round, I said I would only berserk those who berserk me, only they are lower rated than me, or on the same rating as me. But for those who are higher rated, I did not bother to berserk back. I needed every advantage I could get to defeat them.

I won 10 games out of the 12 games I played with a 25% berserk rate, 83% win rate, a performance of 2412 against an average opponent rating of 2079. I had to put up a good fight and for a moment I thought this was going to be the one I would win for the second time but I guess there was other plans for me in the second place position. I do not have to worry too much, it was a good performance. Friday Hivechess - 2nd place and now Saturday Hivechess Tournament - 2nd place.

In this game against madchess, I pulled a trick in the endgame. Since we were down on time, I knew tricks will work on at is point and I had to try it out at least. I gave up the pawn on c5 inorder to prevent a dull game where I do not have much to do. The sacrifice of the pawn will get me piece when the pawn was taken. When my opponent took my c5 pawn, I went for Be3+ and then the knight drops fast.

This was a fast game when it got to this position. I grabbed the center pawn with an attack on the c3. If the knight on c3 tries to capture the center black knight, the rook on a1 drops afterwards. But what works fine in the position for me is the activity of the rook on the b-file, queen working on d8, and the most powerful piece on the board the bishop g7. It is controlling the long diagonal. The fianchetto power was super strong for me in this game. Although at this point my opponent resigned immediately because they thought it was looking like a huge loss in the position.

This is the most interesting game I can say I played during the tournament. It was a fight because this player is a 2300 player and the player is stronger. I had more pawns compared to the only knight on the board. This is what made it more exciting. The passed pawns proof that passed pawns are way stronger than a piece. As I hoped the pawns became very strong at the end of the game. When the pawn were far stretched down to the last square close to promoting.

It made it more improving for me since I became strong for the next games to come. I did not have much to play because the next games were not all bad as well.
