Amid errands and worries, I trust God’s guidance and find peace in the little moments. 😌
Good day everone! I hope you're all doing well. It's November, but the weather feels so hot this afternoon, and there’s barely any wind. I’m feeling a bit nervous since Typhoon Pepito is approaching, and hot weather like this doesn’t seem good. There are also reports that it could be a super typhoon. Plus, I've seen pictures on social media showing a red sky in Bicol and other areas yesterday. If you're familiar with Rudy Baldwin, she’s a visionary, and one of her posts warned Bicol residents about it. When I saw the red sky photos online, it gave me goosebumps. I’m just praying for everyone's safety.
After my shift at 3 PM today, I quickly cleaned the house because we planned to go to the supermarket to buy shoes for my son after his class at 3:30. I just noticed yesterday that his shoes are damaged at the back, and he has Kab Scout tomorrow.
My husband picked up our son from school since it's his day off today. When they got home, we immediately got ready. I haven’t slept yet because I worked the night shift starting at 10 PM yesterday and went straight to my shift until 3 PM today. I can already imagine how tired I’ll be later; I will be like this 😵💫😵💫
We went straight to Robinsons. I was planning to go to Diamond (a place here where you can buy affordable clothes with good quality) to get a new Boy Scout t-shirt since his old one is a bit small now. He’s grown a lot recently, and I’m surprised that the shirt, which used to be loose, is now too small for him. But it was already almost 4 PM, and since Diamond closes at 6 PM and the traffic is heavy, we decided not to go and just headed straight to Robinsons instead.
We bought his black shoes, and honestly, I wasn’t surprised anymore by the high prices. Then, we went to get his snacks for tomorrow.
We then went to Plaza to eat street food since it's rare for us to go out together because of my work schedule and my husband’s day off, which doesn’t always match. Plus, my son has classes during the day. However, when we got to Plaza, there was no street food—such an unlucky day! So, I just decided to take a walk. **Plaza Libertad **is one of the oldest plazas in the Philippines. It used to be called Plaza Alfonso XII and is a historic urban park in Iloilo City. It’s also the place where the flag of the first Philippine Republic was raised after defeating the Spaniards. If you ever visit Iloilo, you should consider checking out Plaza Libertad.
Here is the legendary "Iron Dinosaur," which was used to transport sugarcanes during the peak of the sugar industry in the Visayan region. The passenger railway in Iloilo operated until 1985, while the cargo operations of Panay Railways, Inc. (PRI) continued until 1989.
After getting some fresh air and taking a walk, we went straight home. We rode the modernized jeepney, but earlier, we took the old model. I can say both are good in their own way! The old model is nice because you can enjoy fresh air (if it's not polluted). Sometimes it's nice to feel the wind on your face. In contrast, the modernized jeepney has closed doors, though it’s air-conditioned. Sometimes, though, I feel dizzy, especially when there are a lot of passengers—it can feel a bit suffocating.
The good thing about the modernized jeepney is that there’s a person assigned to collect the fare and ask where you're getting off. In the old model, you have to shout to make sure the driver hears you when you want to get off. The modernized jeepney also has a TV, which is nice because you won't get bored a lot, especially if you're stuck in traffic.
Thank you for stopping by and reading my post, I really appreciate it. I hope everyone stays safe and has a nice day ahead! 😊
Last when I went home, I also rode a modernized jeep but that time don't have TV yet.😁
😁 😁
Thanks for joining the Wednesday walk
Have a great day
Thank you. Have a nice day, too!😌
I didn’t realize there’s a TV in the modernized jeepneys!
😊😊😊
Do the modernised jeeneys still have the fancy painting on the outside like the old ones?
They’re much simpler now, with just route information and basic text on the outside 😊
