Sometimes it really pays off just to take a different route on the way home from somewhere. Especially since the last couple of weeks have been really dark in terms of weather here in Holland, it was good to have some extra outdoors time.
The cool thing about taking an alternative route home is that you end up in places which you never really knew existed and are really surprising because of that.
Just take a look at what kind of sunsets I ran into all of a sudden and how cool the actually are. Having some color in the skies and the contrast of the world is just what I ran into.
I stopped (okay I was on my bike but that doesnt really matter in this one) and just took a moment to take a good look around.
As you see the fields are also having way more water than they normally should have and I guess but today there is also some ice on that since frosty has payed us a visit again.
This is the kind of weather that we like and I ran into all kinds of people young and old who were just walking with or without their dogs.
Sunsets should be integrated in my every day of outdoor time actually, because they are just beautiful here. But you know how it goes qhen you don't live that close to the equator. They are on different times every day, and that might make it a bit challenging to go on the sunset hunting.
But for now...this was a sweet hidden gem!

Yeah luckily I have the dog with me most of the time to end up in different places. This one was with the bike and was a sweet random find!
I dont often take walk at sunset, I most often go out for early morning walks or used to before my wife broke her shoulder, but perhaps I should try and get out for some sunset walks at this time

Well I guess that sunrise walks could also do the trick in this as I find that it often feels the same. Colors all of a sudden everywhere and that is so sweet! The cold is helping with this one.

I just got back from a beach walk, no colors at sunset but was a nice walk
She is still struggling, she can barely move it but the Dr wants her to do a couple of months of physical therapy and see if it has improved or she may need surgery

The sunset looks really nice in those pics, and it looks like it has been raining hard in your part of the world.
I get my bike back from the shop today, after it being in repair for over a month (they had to wait for ages on a new wheel coming back into stock), so I might be doing a Wednesday walk/cycle next week instead of the walk I blogged about this week.

I agree with you taking alternative route can be really fun, getting to find new paths in this process can be amazing, you really can't experience if you don't give it a shot.
