The consumption of alcoholic beverages and the use of drugs have been part of the reality of society for a long time.
This is not just a problem of our times, although drugs have evolved a lot over time, and despite all of them being harmful to our health and a danger to society, the new drugs that have emerged recently can have an effect that It is, in my opinion, even more devastating, for those who consume it and also for those who have to live with these people.
The consumption of alcohol and drugs is often used as a form of disinhibition, and the problem does not only lie when there is consumption in adults, but the basis for its onset is that we must increasingly increase awareness of the harm of these consumptions.
Adolescence is mainly a phase of life conducive to new discoveries and integration into social groups, often at school and outside this environment.
The pleasure of experimenting and discovering that consuming alcohol and drugs makes us better, and more “cool”, leads to the introduction of the consumption of these substances and the ingestion of alcohol in excess.

It's not always easy to know how to say no when we're part of or want to be part of a group, so there are so-called influences that make this startup happen without much to think about.
We all notice the excessive consumption of alcohol and drugs, but we often do little to help reduce this consumption.
Nowadays we are surrounded by information, when we wake up and go to the computer, or the cell phone, or the newspapers or the television we are bombarded with a world of information, so it cannot be said that the consumption of drugs and alcohol is something ignorant. , as well as its effects.
It is up to us, as parents, as siblings and as friends, to try to do more than criticize, and the important word is to raise awareness of those around us and try to demonstrate that just because we consume drugs and alcohol does not mean we are better, nor more “cool.” ”, we have to establish a spirit of healthy conviviality and sharing, involving interpersonal relationships without the need to resort to these substances.
In my country, a few years ago, tobacco packets started to contain, as a form of information and awareness raising, warnings about the harm to health and each packet of tobacco carries with it an often strong image of the diseases associated with consumption.

This, as well as other measures that can be implemented, makes raising awareness essential, as in my opinion it is impossible to prohibit excessive consumption of alcohol and drugs, but we can control and reduce its growth, as this problem is transversal to everyone. social classes, often including those who have more wealth, although the rate of people with low wealth is also high, which often leads to demand for these products. These people end up committing crimes as a way of raising money to buy and maintain the addiction.

Your mention of the measures taken in your country to raise awareness about the harms of tobacco, such as graphic warnings on packaging, is an example of how awareness can be effectively promoted. Similar strategies can be employed to address alcohol and drug consumption, helping individuals understand the risks associated with these substances.
