We tried this tapa a few weeks ago
That is, at another restaurant. We LOVED it. It tasted totally different than we expected but we loved it. The combination of flavors really stood out.
We have this restaurant uphill that we use to rest if the heat gets to our heads after some long walks, as the last part uphill is quite steep. This time we also enjoyed sitting there for an hour before heading home. We enjoyed the cool water and air conditioning but were also a bit hungry. Thankfully for us, it was tapa time so we could order a little bite before heading home.
The only thing we dared ordering
The menu here is not really to my liking but I had noticed that they also sell Atun Tataki here so I figured let's do this as we know we love it. Of course, you never know how it will be served in another restaurant so it was a gamble. To be honest, although it looks quite fancy, it was actually not very nice here. I regret ordering it and so did my boyfriend. On top of that, our daughter also didn't like the chicken with honey sauce. Oops. Failed tapa moments, but at least we have the pictures! I admit it looks very colorful and a joy to the eye but if I ever crave this again, I shall just go downhill and eat it there, I remember it was very simple in terms of looks, tuna grilled shortly with sesame seeds and (I think) soy sauce yet simple was better in this case. Of course, I will try to share the good one as soon as I can too!

It looked better than it tasted but it was worth the try :)
I admit that it now makes me crave the tuna tataki from that other place constantly, lol. We will probably end up there soon!
I didn't ask what it was but it looked like red caviar. I never had that before in my life and I have no clue if that's super expensive as well (the red one) so maybe it's a less expensive version because the tapa only cost 5 euros each. Can't be expensive caviar then, can it :)
For the rest, there was some sort of soy sauce and also wasabi ( which I didn't eat lol)..
The other restaurant had only tuna in sesame seeds on the edges, slightly grilled and some soy sauce, and tasted TOTALLY different. Much better, very simple but much better.
You are in for a treat darling, I have tapa / dinner / foodies pictures for months to come lol. I break all these folders up into parts!

I find that simple yet prepared with care and love is often better, although there are the cases when someone is a master of taste, texture, and flavor (I am reminded of this amazing sushi restaurant in San Diego that I once went too lol!)

The kitties (all 9 of them!) are getting very, very mobile and rambunctious, I will get some more kitty pics and video up this weekend, they are just too cute!

It sure looks so fancy and mouth-watering, now it's hard to believe it didn't taste as it looks, my head is connecting me that you just did expect the taste that way that's why you don't like it lol.

They were way too dry. And yes, it was the first time that was not ok. I never disapproved of chicken strips, but these were just not nice :)
