Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. There is one temple that I would like to take everyone to see again. My wife and I have been to this temple a long time ago. That time, I only took photos of some areas in this temple. So my wife and I want to visit this temple again. And this time I'm sharing everything about this temple. This temple is called Wat Chedi Ngam.
Wat Chedi Ngam is an ancient temple more than 500 years old. From information it is assumed that the temple was built in AD 1478. And used to be an abandoned temple for almost 100 years. Wat Chedi Ngam was renovated in AD 1932 or 92 years ago. And has been continually restored until now. In AD 1999 or 25 years ago, the temple received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree.
Wat Chedi Ngam sign.
It's time to see Wat Chedi Ngam. Let's go. The walls of the temple are built like ancient city walls from small bricks.
Before walking into the temple, we see the entrance arch. The entrance arch is made of brick and plastered with cement and painted brown. Decorated with gold color stucco patterns. Which is the entrance arch is beautiful and outstanding.
I took a photo of the entrance arch from inside the temple.
When we walked into the temple. The front area is the section containing the sanctuary. And we see the buddha image hall (viharn) first. The buddha image hall (viharn) is unique in the original Lanna art style or original northern art. Looks very beautiful and different from temples in other regions in Thailand. But the entrance to the buddha image hall (viharn) is a staircase with statue resembling the serpent different other temples. And there are 2 elephant statues too.
The inside of the buddha image hall (viharn) is beautiful as well. There are many wooden carving on the walls. And on the ceiling of the buddha image hall (viharn) decorated with Lanna art style patterns. In addition, inside the buddha image hall (viharn) there are old buddha statues.
Behind the buddha image hall (viharn) there are also two lion statues.
The temple's pagoda is a white polygonal pagoda with a gold color top, which is tall and large. Around the pagoda there are statues of elephants and dragons.
Behind the pagoda is an ordination hall (ubosot). This ordination hall (ubosot) is a ordination hall (ubosot) built in the same original Lanna art style as the buddha image hall (viharn). But the two sacred architectures differ in the stucco decorations on the front and back area, doors, and windows. And the entrance to the ordination hall (ubosot) is a staircase with the serpent statues.
And area this ordination hall (ubosot) are many statues of gods.
In addition, inside Wat Chedi Ngam there are many pavilions, buddha statues and statues too. My wife and I walked around and enjoyed with these pavilions, buddha statues and statues
The area of a section containing the sanctuary is lawn.
In addition to being the monks' living quarters, this area also has a school for novices and monks. And other buildings for monks.
These are the all stories and photos of Wat Chedi Ngam I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to watch and enjoy my stories and photos. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗
