Hello dear Hivers…
How is everyone out there? Hope all is well and everyone is happy!
As for this week's ASEAN Hive Community Challenge which was entitled ”PAWS and CLAWS”, I want to share our not so ordinary pets at home but still, they make us all happy.
Aside from our super love fur baby, Arashi whom we treated not just a pet but a real family member, we also have these different kinds of pets at home. I want to share their stories as to why we consider them our pets and as a part of our daily lives.
First, we have these lovely birds commonly called "gorrion" here or sparrow in English. It’s a common type of small brown bird related to finch family. My family really love birds and we had some pairs of love birds before but they're all gone now. That was in our previous house and they have a safe shelter there.
But luckily, there are some birds here in our place mostly these small brown sparrows. There were a few who came here inside our fence when we still had our first pet dog Ate Arashi, she always left some food in her container and at first we wondered why… until we saw there were some small birds eating the food she left.
We felt happy and proud of what she did. Then, when she passed away, we seldom saw the birds. But then later we had this broken griller outside and we put some rice on the top, then a few birds started coming and ate the rice. So, my husband made them a sort of little hanging table inside our fence and put some rice every morning and afternoon.
From then on numbers of birds come every day and we really enjoyed listening to their sounds or voices. It’s really a different kind of happiness hearing their sounds and seeing them happy because they can eat and can freely fly away and can come back anytime for food. They are already a part of our family.
I gave it some bread during breakfast and my daughter took its photo.
A screenshot from a video when one of them took out a chicken bone placed at the side of the plate after we ate.
Second, we have this small creature on our dining table.. the house lizard. Every time we have our meal, some lizards come to our table, too. Though they only stay at the corner, it is so pitiful seeing them watching us eating. So, we gave them some rice, sometimes bread and egg. Then it becomes their routine to come during our meal. It's really unusual., isn't it? But it's our joy to feed them.
And we have this green lizard (emerald tree skink) also who stays in our Talisay tree. They share food with the birds.
Lastly, we have these uncommon pet fishes. During those months of intense hot weather, the canal or water route in our area dried up. Then one day, my daughter @tegoshei saw a fish from the canal near our door. And she felt pity for the fish, so she called me and showed it to me. She decided to rescue the fish.
This is Fishy, the fish we rescued that day.
My husband caught the fish and put it in a clean water inside the Tupperware. We fed the fish and named it Fishy. Then, some kids were catching some fish in the canal and gave us 2 of them. We named them Blue and Red. But sadly, Red died just the other day.
This one here is Blue...
These are the stories of our atypical pets that are already a part of our lives. They are all living existence that needs human care. I hope all of us have a heart to care for different kinds of animals, too.
Thank you for reading. God bless us all!!
Fishy is a great name for a fish. It's easy to remember!
Yeah, I agree with you...
Thanks @chaingmai.hhh😊
Those birdssss, they are like sharing info into other birds about your house giving free foods. Thats so cool. And the lizard, its cute but minsan nagugulat pa rin ako sa kanila, lolol
Exactly...and that's what we always saw everytime we put some grain rice on their hanging table. They are really so adorable...and their beautiful sounds it's like a beautiful melody that sooth to your ear down to your heart.🥰💖🤍
Wishing us a good week of engagement ahead
