"My Yard 2022"

My yard is finally showing a lot of happy living things after a long winter and cold spring. Yet, we still have up and down weather conditions. Some of the plants are finally growing since I planted seeds last year or the year before last year. We never know if they need their own time. Every time when I notice that plants are growing, I feel a lot of pleasure. I will show you my garden tour except for vegetables this time.

"２０２２年 庭”

庭がやっと長い冬と寒い春を乗り越えて育っていますが、いまだに天候は不安定です。去年と一昨年に植えた種がやっと育ってきているものもあります。いつ育ち始めるか予想がつかないことも多いので、育っているのを発見したときはとても嬉しいです。今回は野菜以外の庭の様子を写真ツアーします。

I didn't plant these flowers but I noticed a few of them last year. I guess birds dropped seeds. I have more flowers this year.

この花は私が種を蒔いたのではありません。去年この花がいきなり咲き始めました。もしかすると鳥が種を落としたのかもしれません。今年はさらにたくさんの花が咲いています。

I planted lupin seeds last year. Finally, it made three flowers! I was wondering what colour these would become because I got pink, white, and purple seeds. I like this velvet-looking purple lupin. I hope it will be bigger next year.

このルピンは去年植えたものです。ついに３つ花がつきました。種がピンク、白、紫だったので何色の花が咲くのかと考えていました。ベルベットのような紫色のルピンがお気に入りです。来年はもっと大きな花が咲きますように！

I trimmed our grape vines last autumn and this spring. The first vine is doing very well. It made nice grapes last summer. The second and the third vines need time but are also growing little by little.

去年の秋と今年の春にぶどうのツルを剪定しました。１列目のぶどうはかなりよく育ち、去年の夏にはおいしいぶどうをつけました。２列目と、３列目のツルはもう少し時間がかかると思いますが育っています。

These buttercups are also doing very well this year. I saw a few of them last year but they are everywhere this year. They are very pretty.

ウマノアシガタ（キンポウゲ)もとてもよく咲いています。去年は少ししか咲いていなかったのですが、今年はそこら中に咲いています。とてもかわいらしい花です。

Finally! The mint looks very healthy. Mint is a very strong herb. Once it starts, it grows very well but it took quite a long time to start. I want to make mint tea someday soon.

やっと！ミントが元気に育っています。とても強いハーブで、一度育つととても元気なのですが、種が葉をつけるのに時間がかかりました。いつかミント茶を作りたいです。

The Japanese rose called hamanasu is one of my favorite ones! The smell is very pretty. It is good with tea, and jam. Also, the petals are good with salad.

はまなすは私の好きな花の一つです。香りがとてもいいです。お茶、ジャムにするとおいしいです。花びらをサラダにして食べてもおいしいです。

The petals look very beautiful. Washed well and had a salad this time.

Dianthus called Nadeshiko in Japanese is simple and pretty. They grow in my secret spot.

なでしこの花は質素でかわいいです。秘密の場所で育っています。

These are blackberry blossoms. I can't wait to eat berries. Probably, they will start making berries when the weather is very hot and dry.

これはブラックベリーの花です。早く食べたいですね。おそらく、すごく暑くてカラッと晴れた天候になる頃には食べごろになると思います。
