There are many different ways to collect the new mounts in the War Within expansion. Some you can grind for meaning you're guaranteed to unlock them once you get enough of the currency or reputation needed for it. Some are less of a guarantee, like Ol' Mole Rufus over here.

How to get Rufus

Getting Ol' Mole Rufus is in itself nor that hard. You simply have to kill a rare enemy that spawns a few times a day and he might drop as a reward. Emphasis on might. The drop chance is roughly 1% meaning there's a chance you have to kill this enemy more than 100 times just to get the mount. The drop chance doesn't accumulate and is locked at the same chance every time. Another downside is you just get one attempt per character per day. This could take a while...

...unless you have my luck! I got my drop on just the 7th attempt. I was preprared for this to take quite a while so I'm quite thrilled to have one of the rarest mounts of the expansion drop for me so early on.

It can be a bit of a pain to farm for these mounts seeing as the enemies you need to kill only spawn every now and then. If you're not online at the right time you might miss your chance for that day. This also increases the time it will normally take to get a mount like this. Luckily this can be circumvented by using the group finder. Someone will usually post a group if the enemy is up on their server and you can join their group and be phased over to their server.

You will also need to be in a group to spawn the enemy. This enemy doesn't just spawn on his own. Once the event is up five levers will be spawned spread around the zone. These have to be pulled within 10 seconds of each other to spawn the enemy, meaning you need to coordinate with other players to pull them at the right time. It's a nice little gimmick to an enemy like this, instead of having 100s of people just zerg the enemy and kill him in seconds.

Now I just need the same kind of luck for the Spawn of Beledar which is an even rarer mount. Let's hope I can make a post about that soon.
