Just wait and you will survive
I have spent several hours playing Call of Duty Vanguard, both the Alpha and now the Beta. One major thing that I have noticed during my gameplay is that the game is more than happy to reward you for waiting in the same spot all game, aka camping. That has always somewhat been the case in Call of Duty games, but it feels even more so the case in Vanguard.
Here is why...
They have brought back mounting from 2019's Modern Warfare, except now it is even more useful. You can slide on your mount and it works better overall. There is even a peaking mechanic that acts as a blind fire from cover. Mounting has never felt right to me and it just gives too much incentive to hang out in a window and pick people off without moving. I suppose that is actually how things happened during WW2, so I won't complain too much more about that. It seems to be useful, but not essential to being good.
The main issue I have with mounting is during Assault and especially Blitz pacing. When there are more enemies on the map, that means more people are likely to be camping. Spawns do not often switch in these higher pacings, due to the fact that it's just so hard to get across the map's mid-point to the enemy team's side. As soon as you get out of your own team's spawn area, you will typically be greeted with several people mounted up and waiting for you to walk out from behind your corner where you started. It's nearly impossible to make your way closer to the enemies, this makes it a game of range. If you aren't a sniper or marksman, this isn't fun.
This means that it often feels safer to just mount on a wall and wait for the enemies stupid enough to try to run across the battlefield. Then you will see why so many other people are choosing to mount and wait for simple kills. Many players are more concerned about their K/D ratio or getting a W, rather than playing COD in a run-and-gun manner that it first became popular for.
This issue is much less apparent in the tactical pacing modes. When you are playing 6v6, you are far less likely to have to deal with an entire team staying mounted on walls and waiting for you to come out to die. I personally enjoy tactical pacing the most, but there have been times when my team was full of campers and it allowed me to go wreak havoc inside of the enemy spawn during assault and blitz pacing.
Have you played the Vanguard Beta? Which pacing do you prefer? Do you think that mounting is increasing the number of campers? Let me know in the comments below.

Bro that shit gives me so much anxiety. Getting shot in the ass and stuff fucks me up.
The game is now for sale, you buying it?
I already preordered it. I’ve purchased every call of duty ever made for consoles. It’s a must for me, just to see what it’s like and spend as much time as I can with it.
I do get frustrated often, but when I have good games it’s so damn satisfying.
That means you're not going to be coming on warzone anytime soon. Would have been nice to be on your team for those battle royales.
I'll probably just preorder the vanguard I guess. Sucks not having any friends to do team missions and BR battles with.
It's like $100 right?
I really just get so annoyed with battle royale games. They have their great moments, but the time spent running around collecting gear feels pretty wasteful, especially if you mess up and die earlier than you expect to.
I got vanguard for $70. It comes with the PS5 and PS4 version. I think you can purchase just the PS4 version for $60.
Oh I'll get it later on. I just ordered for the PS5 headphones, so no more purchases this month.
