The No Agenda Art Generator on Hive

I've taken a couple of days away from my usual @v4vapp and @podping work to start something new.

This post is all about the producers of the Best Podcast In the Universe: The No Agenda Show. This podcast, hosted by @adamcurry and @johncdvorak, assisted by tens of thousands of producers like me, is the reason I'm working on Value 4 Value and Podping anyway.

For those who don't know, this twice weekly podcast is recorded published on Thursdays and Sundays and every single episode has a beautiful cover art image. You can see the most recent shows by looking at the most recent post of @no-agenda posts. there's also a No Agenda Producers Community where every show is published. I explained more in this post

I've tried to bring No Agenda Producers to Hive before and not had huge success, this is another way of doing it.

The No Agenda Art Generator

You may be wondering what kind of enormous art budget this show has to get this level of graphic design done twice a week. And the answer is value 4 value! All this art (and way more) is contributed by producers who love the show. What's more, this art is largely produced WHILE the show is being produced and streamed live. The art always represents something that came up in the show and that's not easy to predict.

Artists who want to contribute, upload their work to a producer designed and managed website called the No Agenda Art Generator. This is a pretty standard username/password web 2.0 but you'll see amazing artwork. Each show generates 30 or more submissions and there are Evergreen pieces are submitted all the time as well.

This is a labour of Love but there are some other benefits beyond basking in the warm glow of praise if your piece is picked. The No Agenda Shop takes some of these images and puts them on merch with a cut going to the artists and back to the @no-agenda show.

Bringing it to Hive

What I'm now doing is posting all art into a community on Hive called the No Agenda Art Community. The art is already posted via a Creative Commons Share Alike license and I'm not actually copying the images over to Hive image servers, I'm just linking.

I'll be communicating with the artists and encouraging as many of them as possible to get Hive accounts. When they do this, they will be the publishers of their own work and any upvotes will go 50% to them and 50% to the @no-agenda show. You can see my own example here.

This gives them the ease and convenience of posting via a familiar interface on No Agenda Art Generator, whilst hopefully encouraging a few to come over and see what else Hive has to offer.
