For this occasion, I have chosen three videos from two different channels. My curiosity led me to search for channels with a large number of views. There is an explanation for this, which is as follows:
I was interested in finding out what horror video consumers watch on YouTube. I not only took into account the number of views, but also the number of comments, the quality (according to my criteria), and I did not repeat videos that had already been presented previously.
In this search, I found three types of format that interested me. The simplest consists of a succession of short "real" videos showing how a camera records a supposedly inexplicable event.
Another format consists of the narration of real cases, but told in a more elaborate way than in the short videos mentioned above.
Finally, there are the fantastical stories that tell us about other realities, but which we know for certain are not real.
The three types of format are quite interesting and probably have different audiences. However, they do share some common elements.
All the videos make us feel a certain doubt, and therefore tension between whether what we see has a rational explanation or not.
Para esta ocasión he escogido tres videos de dos canales diferentes. Mi curiosidad me llevó a buscar canales con un gran número de visitas. Esto tiene una explicación y es la que sigue:
El interés por saber qué es lo que ven los consumidores de videos de terror en YouTube: No sólo tuve en cuenta las visitas, también el número de comentarios, la calidad (según mis criterios) y no repetir videos ya presentados anteriormente.
En esta búsqueda encontré tres tipos de formato que me interesaron. El más simple consiste en la sucesión de cortos videos “reales” que muestran como una cámara graba un hecho supuestamente inexplicable.
Otro formato consiste en el relato de casos reales, pero relatados de forma más elaborada que en los videos cortos antes mencionados.
Por último, se encuentran los relatos fantásticos que nos hablan de otras realidades, pero de los que tenemos la certeza de que son historias no reales.
Los tres tipos de formato son bastante interesantes y probablemente tengan públicos diferentes. Aunque comparten elementos comunes.
Todos los videos nos generan cierta duda, y por tanto, tensión entre si lo que vemos tiene una explicación racional o no la tiene.
Another point they share is the presence of things that should not appear. For example, the girl who talks to her deceased grandfather. Objects that move without anyone near them, animals that stare into infinity, dark environments, strange sounds, etc.
We cannot forget the narrator's voice with its silences, its slow pace, and what it narrates. A narrative that hides details, emphasizes others, and suggests that we are facing the irruption of the irrational. Of forces from another world into the one we live in.
In short, a whole series of elements that suggest a certain direction for our thinking beyond rational thought, but maintaining the ambiguity as to whether what we see corresponds to a natural or supernatural phenomenon.
I therefore believe that any of the videos I am presenting here today will appeal to fans of the horror and fantasy genre.
Otro punto que comparten es la presencia de lo que no tiene que aparecer. Por ejemplo, la niña que habla con su abuelo ya fallecido. Objetos que se mueven sin que nadie esté cerca de ellos, animales que miran al infinito, ambientes oscuros, sonidos extraños, etc.
No podemos olvidar la voz del narrador con sus silencios, la voz pausada, y lo que va narrando. Una narración que oculta detalles, hace énfasis en otros y que nos va sugiriendo que nos encontramos ante la irrupción de los irracional. De fuerzas de otro mundo en éste en el que vivimos.
En definitiva, toda una suma de elementos que nos sugieren una dirección determinada de nuestro pensamiento más allá del pensamiento racional, pero conservando la ambigüedad sobre si lo que vemos se corresponde con un fenómeno natural o sobrenatural.
Creo, por tanto, que cualquiera de los videos que presento hoy aquí serán del gusto de los aficionados del género del terror y de la fantasía.

The last video is specifically dedicated to Halloween. It is taken from the DrossRotzank channel. I was pleasantly surprised by it, perhaps because of the more classic style of the narrator telling the stories.
Which brings us back to the importance of voice in the genre. In the first video, you can listen to the original narration or various AI-generated audio tracks in other languages. You can see how the dubbing of the original voice (in English) makes the story lose its tension.
Having said all that, I will devote a few lines to the first video: “Imaginary Friends.” It is a very interesting video because you can study a whole series of resources that have been used by some television programs that claim to be “investigative.”
El último video está dedicado expresamente a halloween. Está tomado del canal DrossRotzank. Que la verdad me ha sorprendido para bien, quizás por el estilo más clásico del narrador contando las historias.
Lo que nos lleva de vuelta a la importancia de la voz en el género. En el primer video se pude escuchar la narración original o diversas pistas de audio creadas por IA en otros idiomas. Podrás comprobar cómo los doblajes de la voz original (en inglés) hacen que la historia pierda tensión.
Dicho todo esto, le dedicaré una líneas al primer video: “Imaginary Friends”. Un video muy interesante pues se pueden estudiar toda una serie de recursos que han tomado algunos programas de televisión que dicen ser de “investigación”.
The monsters that live within us
In this section, I will attempt to analyze one of the videos presented. I found the resources used by the author to suggest a scenario that could well be another one interesting enough to study.
The video chosen is the one about “invisible friends.”
The video presents a whole series of common elements already mentioned above, such as the appearance of the sinister. In addition, our sensitivity is heightened by the age of the protagonist, a girl. She is a symbol of defenselessness and purity. However, what is striking is the use of other resources.
We begin with the presence of the expert who opens the video. This already suggests that the narrator is making an effort to treat the case seriously, as well as to gain our trust (science is science).

En este apartado trataré de analizar unos de los videos presentados. Los recursos utilizados por el autor para sugerir un escenario que bien podría ser otro me ha parecido lo suficientemente interesantes como para estudiarlos.
El video escogido es el de los "amigos invisibles".
El video presenta toda una serie de elementos comunes ya citados anteriormente como la aparición de lo siniestro. Además, nuestra sensibilidad aumenta por la edad de la protagonista, una niña. Todo un símbolo de indefensión y pureza. Aunque lo llamativo es el uso de otros recursos.
Comenzamos con la presencia del experto que abre el video. Lo que ya nos sugiere que hay un esfuerzo por parte del narrador en tratar el caso con seriedad, además de ganarse nuestra confianza (la ciencia es la ciencia).

The video begins with a statement that is true: invisible friends in young children are a normal phenomenon that parents should not worry about, according to science. It then goes on to claim that there are cases that science cannot explain.
To support this claim, several bizarre drawings are shown in which young children draw monsters representing their "invisible friend." Furthermore, these drawings lack context; we don't know who drew them or where they came from…
Another “proof” that there are cases beyond reason is an unprovable claim. Children give these invisible friends names they have never heard before, such as “Lucifer.” Is the narrator sure that the children have never heard these names before?
I do not doubt that there are inexplicable things, only that what is presented as “evidence” does not support this claim.
El video comienza con una afirmación que es cierta: los amigos invisibles de los infantes son un fenómeno normal, al que los padres no deberían dar importancia, la ciencia lo dice. Para después afirmar que hay casos que la ciencia no puede explicar.
Para sustentar esta afirmación se muestran varios dibujos de carácter bizarro en los que niños de corta edad dibujan a monstruos representando el “amigo invisible”.Dibujos, admemás, sin contexto, no conocemos los niños que los dibujaron, ni de dónde han salido…
Otra “demostración” de que hay casos más allá de la razón es una afirmación no demostrable. Los niños ponen nombres que nunca han escuchado a estos amigos invisibles como “lucifer”. ¿Está seguro el narrador de que los niños no han escuchado nunca estos nombres?
No pongo en duda que existen cosas inexplicables, sólo que lo expuesto como "evidencia" no sustenta esta afirmación.

The girl recounts the following:

In short, if we do not allow ourselves to be influenced by the narrator's exposition and the video's editing, it is very likely that instead of seeing a monster from another plane, we will perceive the presence of one of the monsters that live among us.
Hell is here, even if transforming it into a horror genre comforts us.

En fin, si no nos dejamos sugestionar por la exposición del narrador y por el montaje del video, es muy probable, que en lugar de ver un monstruo del otro plano, percibamos la presencia de uno de los monstruos que habitan entre nosotros.
El infierno está aquí, aunque el transformarlo en género de terror nos reconforte.

¡Ay! no sé Rick 😂... la tapa de la urna moviéndose, la sombra en la litera, la mecedora, las lámparas, las ventanas que se cierran de golpe... la cosa en la carretera... No niego que puede haber de todo por ahí, pero los verdaderos monstruos -como bien dices- están entre nosotros.
Yo no veo películas de horror y estas cosas antes (hace long long long time) las veía, pero no me llaman ya la atención. La IA por todas partes es algo que me parece más terrorífico. De hecho ya se pueden hasta hacer videos con IA que parecen muy reales.

Los tres formatos que mencionas son muy interesante de ver, el tercero, y aunque sabemos que no es verdad, nos llama la atención de igual manera, dado que lo que uno busca es esa sensación inexplicable que se siente al ver películas de terror
El narrador sin dudas juega un papel principal al momento de relatar los momentos más cautivadores de las escenas de tensión

When I watch videos of this genre, I usually watch them alone, so I always choose short ones.

Que excelente presentación, en este caso los amigos invisibles son monstruos, a veces no... sabes quien es el amigo invisible de los niños que luego de adultos no está más? Yo sí, se llama doble, los niños lo ven.
Pero también pasa que hay entidades que saben que los niños ven cosas, y luego están esas cosas reales por las que nos niños nunca deberían pasar pero pasan, lamentablemente.
A veces como muestran los videos ocurren cosas a determinada hora o las cámaras filman cosas espeluznantes. El otro plano existe, si que existe.

Sobre el otro plano, de niño, como de 4 años, recuerdo ver luces de colores... como si hubiera algo más allá. Pero ningún ser, ni malo ni bueno.
Y, claro, hay cosas que un niño o una niña nunca deberían conocer.

Te vi a tiempo porque ya estaba armando el post de cierre jaja dividiste el post en 3 secciones que casi nunca pueden faltar en un escenario de terror, la ficcion, lo real y los sucesos sin explicacion, excelente por ese lado 👻... yo siempre dire que los niños ven cosas que nadie mas puede ver y cuando un niño afirma haber visto un fantasma o tal cosa, hay que creerle, a esa edad es muy dificil que este jugando una broma 👀
La voz del narrador tambien juega un papel fundamental en este tipo de videos, no es lo mismo ver un video de terror con una voz como la de Buhito que con una voz como la de Dross jaja

Hola @elbuhito, casi no llego, 🤣 y con la caída de Hive ya pensaba que iba a ser así.
Sobre la cuestión, no dudo de que los niños no mienten, ven monstruos. En ocasiones los monstruos son de allá, y en otras son de aquí (el vecino, el padre, el tío, el amigo del padre, la madre,...) aunque a los adultos, que si vivimos en la mentira, nos gusta pensar que todos los monstruos son de allá (y mirar hacia otro lado). Esto claro, es una opinión.
En el caso del video de los amigos invisibles.. la niña ve a una anciano, es lo que ve, que además para ser un "monstruo" es bastante rústico en sus apariciones... entra y sale por la ventana. Son los adultos los que ven al monstruo.

Recuerdo que antes, cuando tenía un poco más de tiempo libre, solía esperar con ansias cada publicación de un video de Dross, lo más increíble es que ni siquiera soy fan del terror jajajaja, pero sus tops 7 y sus historias, tienen algo que aunque no me guste asustarme, me llama la atención.

NO sé porque cuando veo películas de terror muchas veces me da algo de risa no miedo. Sra porque he vivido experiencias misteriosas en la realidad
Vaya tema para contar y ver. Yo tengo dos ideas sobre los amigos invisibles están entre la necesidad emocional de algunos niños y los niños que ven entidades, que son médium y aún no lo saben. Aún así uno tiene cierto temor sobre estos temas, pero nos gusta verlos un rato.
Últimamente con la IA veo videos que creo que son reales y no lo son, con esos efectos especiales. Nos pueden llegar a causar confusión.
Yo esto de miedo lo veo rapidito y ya, sino se me quedan la imagen en la mente.
