Hello Hive

Every tiny pieces of fabrics is of so much importance to me and sometimes when I buy a yard or more of any fabrics I make sure that I use it to the very last piece.

Isn't this lovely.

My crop top with these two nice blends of fabrics.

Neither of them is enough to make a top but a combination of the two was just enough to serve this purpose.

The pattern fabric was meant to be completely used for the upper part but it wasn't enough so I had to add the plain wine using them as the sleeves.

This is what the fabrics look like.
All cut in rectangle except for the side cut where I will make it into the armhole.

Its a simple magic of gathering and plating that turned these rectangles into a top.

Look at the layout of how I actually did that.

The sleeves were joined at that edge
And a lower fitted waist band.

After fixing the sleeves, an elastic thread went round the chest and sleeve circumference.

While the lower part of the bodice was made into simple pleats.

The cutting lasted few mins after I got the inspiration about what I want to make but I still have challenges with sewing and ended up losing and re-stitching over and over again.
Getting a perfect hem is a problem and if only you held my top closely you will see the not to neat hem.

But it is what it is, with time my stitching will improve hopefully.
Wanting to make a crop top you can see from my photo that that the plain waist band came down longer than expected, and it no longer like a crop top.
I have to retake the measurements and reduce the length to at least somewhere above my naval point.

I love the elastic you added to the arm and shoulder area, it gave the top a very unique look.

Here this kind of top you made is super trendy, the elasticated sleeves and neckline are the „thing“ right now. And I do not think you needed too long. You created a complete garment out of nothing. That is a lot of work, to design the pattern, to think about how to sew it and then to alter it so that it fits perfectly. I guess this can only be faster if you would sew several of the exact same tops, with the designing and fitting already done.
I love the colors. And the mix of pattern and uni fabric. Very lovely <3

It is alot of work getting the fitting done but I won't learn to be a good designer if I ignore difficult task like this.

Am glad you like my top.
Thank you for the honest and lovely review ❤🌹🌺💐

I LOVE IT!!!
That is so perfect for every occasion and you can mix n match it with anything to dress it up or down!

What a brilliant job!

And I won't mind dropping my WhatsApp contact if you don't mind

Thank you

The combination of the two fabric looks really nice. Using my left over fabric to the last piece is one of the things I learnt from you.

The top is so beautiful on you, thanks for sharing @monica-ene.

Thanks dearie ❤

A wonderful job my friend. I want a bluse like yours!

Oh dear, I wish I can make a dream blouse and send them over to you.
Am happy you came around my blog anf also like my blouse ❤💖

4 hours is too short for me. It would take me a week! 😁 in my opinion the top fits perfectly; I do not see what you write about, that it is long. The top looks great with the skirt. At first I even thought it was a dress.

The top looks great on you!! I love that you used up the leftovers, I think also the design you created through it, looks amazing:) (I do also think it is a lot of fun to make something even from the leftovers it creates a very different approach to the whole process, I feel) well even though it is not a crop-top anymore I really like the strip of wine, that is left at the bottom, also I imagine its quite comfortable, like that you can fit it in the trousers... And to finish I also love that you have a bottom (is it trousers or a skirt?) in the same fabric, which makes it an awesome outfit!! Looking forward to see some more using-up-fabric creations!!:)
