Sunsets in the mountains // Photography

We were lucky with the weather over the New Year’s holidays. The above-zero temperatures made it really pleasant and it almost felt like spring already so I had the chance to take a few nice photos in the nature again.

I got in touch with many friends that I otherwise don’t chat with as often anymore.
One of them is an older gentleman, he’s in now in his nineties and I met him quite some years ago during our singing performance in the UK.

He was a member of the hosting choir, and he’s still an active signer today. At the time, he was telling me that apart from singing he’s doing pilates, swimming and tai chi to stay fit and agile. Now, he’s not doing pilates anymore but he’s working on fixing his posture and he says he’ll get back to it later.

Why am I telling you all this? I think he’s a great example of how the growth mindset and constant striving for progress can extend your lifespan.

Just the fact that at his age he’s tech savvy enough to use email and social media is impressive. I wonder what kind of tech will we be dealing with when we’re 90+ years old, if we reach that age. Staying on top of new trends is important even if we always think that it’s irrelevant for us and that we can be just as fine without the new tech tools. In reality, most of them make our lives easier and it pays out to be curious and learn a little bit from the start.

Last year, I taught my grandma how to make video calls on Whatsapp and she was so happy that she can see the family that lives on the other side of the world.

Otherwise it can get really lonely these days, especially for the elderly that try to stay home and not come in touch with other people in order to stay healthy.

I also taught my younger cousin how to set up a crypto wallet and buy some crypto through an exchange. There’s a lot of information out there but many friends simply get overwhelmed and leave it for another day. I’ll admit, I was one of them back in 2015. It took me months to wrap my head around it.

I guess today would be an even better day to buy…
