We all feel the city in a different way, but in this exhibition that I bring you to this space, it is about 12 views through painting, drawing and photography.
I went to this collective exhibition when there were only a few hours left before the works were to be dismantled. I suppose the Wifredo Lam Gallery in Marianao already has a plan for this month.
The caretakers were chatting very animatedly and welcomed me with a smile. I was the only person there, asking a lot of questions, as I usually do, and photographing the works.
So, get ready to take this tour with me. I will dare to give you my impressions of the exhibited works and I would like you to share your thoughts with me in the comments section.
Luis Bruzón recreates an everyday scene on Havana's Malecón through a manipulated photograph. The work is entitled Actitudes Humanas (Human Attitudes) and belongs to a series that the author called ‘Habana 500 años después’ (Havana 500 years later).
In my opinion, we can also be happy and innocent at the edges. This is what this work conveys to me.
This is a work by Alina Sardiñas and I really loved the texture she achieved with the water. Sometimes when the Malecón overflows there is flooding in some parts of Havana and I think her intention is to look at the city from the bodies of water. This image is part of a series of photographs entitled ‘Ojo de Agua’ (Eye of Water).
Oil on canvas. I don't know what I was thinking... 😄 I think this is Yuniel D'Casal's work. You can't see the foot in the photo, I took the picture so badly... but... but, do you see a corridor like me? and doors? The colour combination is really interesting and I think the author wants to deliver a message of hope. And I also see sea. Maybe it's a painting within the painting. What do you see?
This mixed-media work has integrated circuits inside and is very much in keeping with the idea that its author, Carlos Acosta, wants to convey. It is a series entitled ‘Artificial Intelligence’.
It alludes to the Morro lighthouse, which means light and guide. Maybe it is some kind of criticism of the direction society is taking, because I see a certain chaos around it.
😁
How about a cup of coffee? Are you enjoying this Exhibition?
This work is made with charcoal on paper. It is a drawing and belongs to Víctor Cisneros. Its title is self-portrait and you will have to forgive me for the cut but the lights reflected a lot on the glass and I made magic. But that's the whole drawing, I only cut out the diaphragm and the frame.
😑
(I'm in a moment of introspection right now)
‘Red cord’ Another month, another dayHere I am, dwelling in
the waiting, the synopsis
of a whirlwind
full of emotions...The fear of his/her absence
would become a constant
unconscious in my being...
These strokes made my heart a little heavy. We are all connected but there are cords that are very strong and divine.
Untitled, mixed media and its author is Michel Torres Lobo.
This was an impossible mission (because the reflections), but here it is for you anyway... and here, the Capitol of Havana is represented. I also see columns. This work gives me a sense of loss, escape, and dramatic falls.
The Capitol was one of the important buildings that the Office of the Historian has been restoring for many years. We owe this one in particular to the tireless efforts of the historian Eusebio Leal Spengler, who has passed away, but had the satisfaction of seeing this work completed.
I was delighted to find works here by a Hiver: Denis Delgado Alemán (@denisda). His technique is oil on canvas and he builds his works from stains of colour, taking as reference a place and a street in Havana. My favourite is the second one and is entitled: ‘Obrapía. Study of Light and Colour’.
The next proposal comes from Arturo Wong Longchong. The artist uses recycled materials to create his work based on lines and acrylic colours. Could it be the map of the city and its street layout? Perhaps.
This is another work by the artist who opens this post. Bruzon titled this one ‘The Fisherman’.
I managed to take this photo of the following work despite the reflections from the windows...
... but then I realised that if I stood right in front of it, I could alter the creation myself. Crazy things that occur to me. Maybe it's all about feeling and looking at the city, right? The same thing happened to me with the Expo poster on the glass of the Gallery, remember? (see it in this post)
😃
This is the work of Jormay González Mandury. Technique: Digital Photography, and is entitled ‘Doll's House’.
He achieved an interesting effect with the manipulation of image elements and perspective, giving us a surreal concept of the city.
‘La oscuridad donde habito’ (The darkness where I live) by Aramís Cué del Cristo is a representation in mixed technique of a place in the form of a garden, perhaps. Black flowers all around and a single white rose. My photo does not do it justice.
I didn't manage to capture the details of the white rose, which it has. All the roses come out in relief from the work which is large in size.
This is the latest work of the exhibition and is the creation of Kevin Suñé García and its titles are: Interpretación I and Interpretación II. It is made with charcoal and chalk on paper.
The words of this collective exhibition, as well as the curatorship was in charge of Abenamar Bauta, who is an illustrator, draftsman and painter.
In the catalogue of works, he refers to it as a multidimensional narrative, which also highlights the commitment to inclusion and diversity, bringing together creators from different backgrounds.
I hope you enjoyed this walk. I had a wonderful time. I took the opportunity to take some photos on the way out of the Gallery and I was even invited to participate tomorrow in the exhibition that these creative women will be holding on 124th Avenue. They belong to a project of the Casa de la Cultura de Marianao to bring together all those interested in expressing their art and crafts in different techniques.

I know how difficult it is to photograph with reflections, windows in the back and all those complications and you did a great job!!!
I see sea, after the corridor of communication and wisdom I see emotions and love.
The works made from the lighthouse, are my favourite, because of the materials used and the work involved and then the three oil works by Denis... reminds me a lot of other artists that I love!!!
I was waiting for these pictures! Great display of art!😍
Hello, here with my morning coffee. 😃 I am very happy about being able to take you to an exhibition with me. This I think was the first post entirely dedicated to that. And I'm even more pleased that you enjoyed it.
It's very nice what I see in that corridor.
Big hugs and have a very enjoyable Saturday. May you make the most of it as you know how.
☀️
I love art and seeing through my eyes and through the eyes of the artists, often a lot is said through the works. Thank you for that!😃
What a great addition to Art Talk!
Thank you, @sjarvie5, I'm glad you liked my post. 😇
I enjoyed this very interesting pass, by the way. I remember a first question and an image, and my answer is: I also see sea.
Also, and I continue, I forgive you for not taking more pictures because of the reflections. I have a big photography exhibition at the cas de Mexico in Madrid that I will not share, precisely because of the reflections.
Of all the shared I liked Michel Torres Lobo, Denis Delgado too and above all I love the photography of Jormay Gonzalez Mandury.
Thank you very much @nanixxx, and see you tomorrow.
Hello,
I had to take the photos sideways or sometimes from above, avoiding reflections and then edit that in Lightroom.... vertical, horizontal, aspect, scale and the mother of tomatoes hahaha.... 😃 Even so, they didn't look quite right. But hey, the effort is there and my pleasure to share, too. These are all the works contained in the exhibition.
... 🌟 and I continue too, I thank you for always being close by in any way, sleepy, tired, speechless... you are always there. Why do we like the same works of arts?
🤗👋
Una pena :(
Good morning, (I hope you are sleeping as I write this). On the question of thanks, you know that I am also very grateful (and very much so).
I'm thinking, maybe the photos can be published in that new photo community 🤣. I don't know...
About the shared tastes, it has a simple explanation, you have an exquisite taste for art (me too 😃). For this week I want to upload something spectacular..... Let's see if I have time this weekend to move forward.
Happy Saturday @nanixxx.
Good morning, I slept until 6 am. I woke up with a strong emotion of joy and jumped out of bed. Crazy things happen to me, really.
I laughed a lot at the good taste thing. 🤣 Still laughing.
🤔 What it will be? Mmmm, I'm curious.
Enjoy the day!
Good morning 🔆... I'll tell you, I started posting a year ago and I want to do something special.... Maybe by Tuesday it will be up.
And keep laughing 😃 see you later.
😅 see you then

Happy Hive Power Up Day!
Hola, @nanixxx buen recorrido y acertado para mi, lo que expusiste, de cada detalle en cada fotografía. Saludos me gustaron, gracias 🤗
Gracias. Podía haber escrito más, pero a veces me parece que alargar los posts demasiado puede hacerlos tediosos. Entonces me centré en lo más importante que ví y sentí.
Art is mostly visual, but the way it is interpreted or approached has a quite different phraseology: texture, bodies of water, a painting within a painting, chaos, dramatic falls, color spotting techniques, manipulation of image elements and perspective .....
For me it's like a new language with which I should study a little more as I go along.
I loved Luis Bruzon's photos and Denis Delgado Alemán's paintings, although good art is always enjoyable in its entirety.
Thanks @nanixxx
Why don't you go and visit an exhibition and bring back your impressions? I think it will be very interesting to read, you know how I feel about your writing.
You're welcome 🤗
I Will,some day,nearby.
It would be too bold of me, hahaha.
