Golf on Sunday Mornings
I usually golf on Sunday mornings. I tee off at 7am and I am home by about 11am usually, so it doesn't impact family and home life too badly.
It's a great sport and I love it, but sometimes it's just that little bit too time consuming. A round at 7am will take around three and a half hours, but if you leave it until 9am or later, you could easily be looking at four and half hours, which is just too long in my opinion. Half your day is gone essentially and when you have young kids, as I do that's not fair.
There was a big competition on this weekend, the August monthly medal, but there was an even bigger event on at home, with my youngest son celebrating his sixth birthday, so I ditched the golf this week.
Instead we spent the early afternoon at Busy Bees with Finn's friends for his birthday party and had my family over for a barbecue in the evening. The weather just about behaved and I got all the food cooked and most people got to eat outside and then low and behold, the rain arrived!
I did get out for a round on Wednesday morning at 6:30am before work though and it was really enjoyable and the course was looking great as you can see below.
Bird feeders
While I was out golfing on Wednesday. I noticed that they have erected these funky little bird feeder boxes on the little walkway between the 4th and 5th and 7th and 8th holes and they add a nice pop of colour to the place.
The walkway here used to be gravel too and it would get very mucky in the winter months, but now they have laid tarmac and it should be in great condition this winter.
They have also added this wooden frame and I'm not sure if it's finished and the idea is it frames the hole behind or if its a work in progress. What do you think?
Beautiful Day for golf
It was a lovely day on Wednesday when I got out for the practice round and here are a few snaps from that day. Glorious green grass and a perfect blue sky.
Sláinte and Peace out.
I think some randomer wandered in and left that frame there. It looks totally out of place. I'd remove it if I were you...surreptitiously of course:)
Ha ha, I thought you'd be more interested in the birthday party, such is your love of kids! 🤣
Beautiful gold course!
But the birthday party I'm sure was a lot more fun! It's nice to have a party where family can come. 6 years old... they grow up fast. It sounds like everyone enjoyed before the rain arrived, so I hope it was a great pary!
Ya the birthday party was great. Always amazes me the sweat they get up in these places with ten minutes of arriving!
