HEAT STRESS AND MORTALITY RATE;THINGS TO DO TO MAINTAIN YOUR PROFIT.

During the heat period, bearing in mind that heat usually comes immediately after the harmattan period is over here in Nigeria. Immediately the harmattan period is gone, the next period is the hear period. Rearing Broiler chicken during this period is proven to be difficult because the stress that heat brings on Broiler chicken birds is nothing but mortality rate.

During the heat period, heat stress on poultry birds seems to be the common challenge. If care isn't taking, this might leads to birds mortality rate which can reduce the profit of your poultry farm business.

Things to do imbibe during the heat period.

• Feed them less during the day time. It's not advisable to feed your birds when they are experiencing heat stress most especially during the day time.

• Always refill their drinkers every now and then. You makes sure their drinkers are not empty of water. They seem to drink much water during the day time than any other time.

• You can also imbibe in wetting their pen plus the pen roof to make pen house cooler.

• Multivitamin can also help to prevent anything that heat stress wants to bring. Like partial stroke, weakness of body, hotness of the body, heavy breathing and panting.

• Make sure there's enough shade for them. Shade usually provides cool and calm environment.

If some of these steps are followed, I think there shouldn't be any cause for alarm in reduction of profit because you will still have your numbers of birds intact. Mortality rate reduces poultry farm business profit.
