It's been a while since I've talked about my hive witness node so what better way to spend the day than to make a update post. I'm thinking of making this a monthly fixture to also display earnings and what not.

About the witness

My node is run in my home on my home network, I have 500Mbit/s Download and 30Mbit/s upload. It's running in a server box running multiple VMs.

Currently I'm ranked 98 overall, 91 excluding disabled witnesses.

In the month of January 2023 my witness earned the following Hive Power.

My hive node has been running flawlessly since returning the witnessing back in august of last year after a brief stop due to costs.

I am still in need of a UPS backup system to prevent data loss in case of power cuts but it would seem that the root issue of powercuts in my area has been rectified completely so I'm less concerned now.

Additionally with new tools released with the HiveD software is easier than ever before to quickly correct a corrupted blocklog and get back up and running.

Future plans

I am still wanting to run a API node but it will likely not be a public one but rather one for personal projects and a stable back end for alloyxuast related stuff.

I'm currently lacking funds to aquire more SSDs in order to have enough I/O performance and space to run the API node software, The database tends to use around 3-5TBs depending on settings and server config.

I've got a lot of cool ideas I'd like to do and I'm hoping I'll actually manage to get some of them done sooner rather than later.
