Yahoo News' obsession with Trump continues

in Informationwar3 years ago

One of the best places on the internet to get "dumb news" is to look at the Yahoo News aggregate site. They make a few articles of their own but for the most part they just pull from other websites in order to have a page to look at. I don't know how many people actually look at any of it but I would be willing to bet that they are mostly liberal people who are looking for additional confirmation that conservatives are bad people.

I look at it most days not because I am interested in what they are reporting, but because I want to see if they even make an attempt every now and then to deviate from their extremely biased ways. They have not done so.

About 6 months ago the comments section of the articles was actually a pretty fun thing to read - more interesting than the actual articles - but since they contained primarily conservative counter-points to the poorly-written biased articles Yahoo simply deactivated all comments.

So if you take a peek at Yahoo news you will see almost exclusively political stuff mixed in with some anti-crypto writeups telling people that they definitely should not get involved in crypto and should stick to traditional financial institutions. Also, of course there is a whole lot of information about every single move that Trump makes.

When DJT was President, virtually every article on their page was about him. One would assume that now that Biden is President that they would have an article or two about him on there, which they do. However it is very very few articles and they are always spun into some sort of positive light.

Today I counted through the main page of Yahoo News and there are 14 articles about Trump, all of which are negative except for maybe the one about his golf course resuming operations with the PGA but even that could be seen as negative because they focus more on January 6th than they do about golf.

There are only 3 articles about Biden and all of them are spun in a positive way and 2 of them of course, blame Biden's shortcomings on Trump or other conservatives.

Inside the above article the blame for the completely speculative "crisis" is blamed on how harsh Trump was on North Korea, even though wasn't that kind of working? Wasn't Trump actually the first US President to meet with Kim Jong-un for the first time in like, forever?

I remember reading some talk and hearing about it on Joe Rogan's podcast about how liberal news outlets are suffering huge losses in viewership now that they can't complain about Trump 24/7 so perhaps this continued obsession with the man is their pathetic attempt at remaining relevant. I don't know about you but I don't consider any of these MSM players to be relevant anymore and thankfully, I am part of a growing populace.

Without Trump their ratings have tanked because people love the left versus right world wrestling federation level of politics in this country. Trump is just good for ratings, if the media actually hated him they would ignore him.

probably very true. The way that CNN's ratings have just gone to hell in the past year would certainly indicate that this is so. I like the WWF reference btw.
