A look back, A leap forward

Hey little one,

If anyone ever told me we will be where we are today, I would have probably scoffed at the person as if to say you're a huge liar.

Alot of things have happened that I would love to talk to you about over a chilled bottle of soda or maybe Lipton as we used to relish then in that big cup that daddy gave us.

It will interest you to know that the reading of the dictionary we decided to do that time which seemed taunting turned out nice, most people compliment how I speak now and even though I try to just make it seem like their compliments don't get to me, I blush on my inside.

Phew... Remember how we were insecure about our looks, the nose especially? Lol And you kept encouraging us that we are beautiful regardless of what everyone thinks? As the years passed it affected how I carried myself and I eventually saw how the way people viewed me change.
I get compliments and I am like ... "Wait na me Dem dey follow talk?"

You made me read how to win friends and influence people because I was too shy to talk to people or create connections... You must have been a master mind because right now I am a people magnet and yes, I try to make people smile at every opportunity I get.

I read the richest man in Babylon too but sorry I didn't really follow the rules 100% and this has had me just barely afloat when it comes to finances but don't worry, we aren't doing bad either. I will do better moving forward.

Oh yes, we found "the one."

I miss being you, life was easier and way more fun then. Right now, it's bills upon bills, responsibilities that I can't shy away from. I just remembered how we were so eager to be grown ups, here we are. I have no regrets though.

Each day and each breathe I take is as a result of decisions you made or should I say decisions we made.
We aren't quite where we envisioned we'd be but we have made tremendous progress.
