Iniciativa. Navidad en casa. [ESP-ENG]

Hola amigas, no sé cómo se me pasó el tiempo hasta hoy que es el último día para participar en la iniciativa Navidad en Casa, pero como dije desde el principio no iba a dejar de hacerlo, solo que la decoración de mi hogar este año se prolongó hasta el fin de semana pasado y ocurrieron otros acontecimientos que hicieron imposible publicar antes. Ahora como ya me justifique 🤦🏻‍♀️voy a contarles un poco sobre como decoro mi hogar.

Hello friends, I don’t know how I missed the time until today which is the last day to participate in the Christmas at Home initiative, but as I said from the beginning I was not going to stop doing it, only that the decoration of my home this year lasted until last weekend and other events occurred that made it impossible to publish before. Now as I have already justified myself 🤦🏻‍♀️voy to tell you a little about how I decorate my home.

Primero quiero decirles que la decoración es muy sencilla, tenemos adornos que tienen con nosotros desde que formamos una familia, otros han sido elaborados por nosotros mismos o nos han regalado, pero lo que nunca ha faltado desde el principio es el árbol de navidad y el pesebre con el nacimiento de Niño Jesús.

First I want to tell you that the decoration is very simple, we have ornaments that have been with us since we formed a family, others have been made by ourselves or have been given to us, but what has never been missing from the beginning is the Christmas tree and the manger with the birth of Baby Jesus.

Mi árbol de navidad tiene 14 años, fue la primera navidad que mi esposo y yo pasamos juntos y también fue el primer año que él hizo el pesebre, ya que es el encargado de esta parte de la decoración. Todavía conservo algunas bambalinas de ese año aunque otras se han dañado y hemos tenido que sustituir por decoraciones nuevas. Estás bambalinas rojas son de las primeras y todavía se conservan en muy buen estado.

My Christmas tree is 14 years old, it was the first Christmas my husband and I spent together and it was also the first year he made the nativity scene, since he is in charge of this part of the decoration. I still have some of the bambalinas from that year although others have been damaged and we have had to replace them with new decorations. These red bambalinas are the first ones and are still in very good condition.

Estos adornos fueron elaborados por los niños para su colegio pero luego siempre han querido colgarlos en el árbol y cada año preguntan por ellas para que yo no las bote, pero es obvio que yo no voy a deshacerme de algo que a ellos les interese. Así también es con el collage de tradiciones de navidad que mi hijo elaboró para su colegio y hasta ahora nos ha acompañado en nuestro hogar.

These ornaments were made by the kids for their school but then they have always wanted to hang them on the tree and every year they ask for them so I don’t throw them away, but it is obvious that I am not going to get rid of something they are interested in. So it is with the collage of Christmas traditions that my son made for his school and so far has accompanied us in our home.

Este muñeco de nieve fue un regalo de navidad de una sobrina cuando en su adolescencia quiso aprender a trabajar con masa flexible, ella no continuo con esta actividad, pero a mí me quedó un recuerdo que cada año coloco en nuestro árbol.

This snowman was a Christmas gift from a niece when she wanted to learn how to work with flexible dough as a teenager, she did not continue with this activity, but I kept a souvenir that I put on our tree every year.

En cuanto a mí, el año pasado quise empezar a explorar mi lado creativo y elaboré este copo de nieve azul para el árbol, la verdad nunca se me ha dado mucho las manualidades pero igual quería intentar, el resultado no estuvo mal, pero no lo he vuelto a hacer.

As for me, last year I wanted to start exploring my creative side and I made this blue snowflake for the tree, the truth is I’ve never been very good at crafts but I still wanted to try, the result wasn’t bad, but I haven’t done it again.

La entrada de mi casa todos las navidades desde hace 14 años esta siendo adornada por esta guirnalda que yo misma decoré y que también le agregué luces para hacerla más llamativa y que todos los vecinos la puedan ver.

The entrance of my house every Christmas for the last 14 years has been decorated with this garland that I decorated myself and also added lights to make it more eye-catching so that all the neighbors can see it.

Me encanta que mi mesa de comedor también se vista de navidad, este año pude adquirir dos hermosos manteles que han mejorado el aspecto de los espacios, ya que mi casa es de concepto abierto así que el comedor, la cocina y la sala de estar están conectados. Como centro de mesa he colocado dos cotillones que nos han regalado, pero lo hermoso de ahora es que los cotillones no son solo unas bolsas de navidad como antes, sino que cada vez son más elaborados y quedan hermosos para agregar a la decoración de los hogares.

I love that my dining table is also dressed for Christmas, this year I was able to acquire two beautiful tablecloths that have improved the look of the spaces, since my house is open concept so the dining room, kitchen and living room are connected. As a centerpiece I have placed two cotillions that have been given to us, but the beauty of now is that the cotillions are not just a few Christmas bags as before, but are becoming more elaborate and are beautiful to add to the decoration of homes.

Además de todo lo anterior, también tengo otras decoraciones que me han regalado como este envase navideño que en aquel momento venía con una planta de navidad, pero que ahora lo rellené con bambalinas que no uso y me ha funcionado para decorar el mesón de la cocina.

In addition to all of the above, I also have other decorations that have been given to me as gifts such as this Christmas container that at the time came with a Christmas plant, but now I filled it with bambalinas that I don’t use and it has worked for me to decorate the kitchen counter.
