Well here goes my attempt
Title: Tough times for Fred
Times had changed for Fred life used to be so easy living near a big city by the beach the messy humans leaving food scraps all over the place, getting food fir him Ethel and the kids was so easy and the selection was wide and tasty.
But now it’s all changed humans out in the beach was very rare and when they did they had these strange things covering their mouth and nose and weren’t eating when visiting the beach.
Now Ethel was used to Fred bring a great provider and didn’t notice the changes in the pattern of the humans and thought Fred was slacking off and was giving him a bit of a hard time.
So now Fred was feeling overwhelmed and had to start foraging for food on the beach, crabs, seaweed etc and if they were lucky a little fish now and again.
Little did they now this natural food was far better fir them than fries, chips and other fast food the humans dropped everywhere.
How true is that!
We human not only spoil our health eating wrong foods but we spoil the strength, the survival ability and the health of these creatures as well.
Hmm, for someone who said he is bad at writing you gave us a story with a great message.

Flight Journey
It was hot and humid, as I walked along a creek bed, crossing back and forth on the rocks, since the water level was low in most spots. At one point I crossed a spot with a deeper level of water. As I did so, this wave of dizziness overcame me and I fell on the rocks and then into the water pool. It happened so quickly, I had no time to think.
In the next moment, I was laying in this cradle of a many branched like structure, disoriented with no idea what just happened. Where’d the creek go? No water waves, no rocks, nothing. Complete change of landscape and I wasn’t even wet. I lay there feeling confused, trying to get my bearings. I couldn’t see the ground and had no idea of what was actually cradling me in its grasp.
Everything was still and quiet, except for a slight wind of indistinguishable whispers murmuring. As I lay there, staring upwards, two winged creatures manifested in the pale blue expanse above me. I watched them move to a spot directly over me. The whispers increased in volume but I still couldn’t ascertain anything that was being communicated, never mind identifying a language.
There was nothing recognizable to me, nothing familiar. I started to wonder where I actually was and how this happened. More whispers. Each thought I had was followed with whispers, yet I could see and hear nothing around me that was making those sounds. The winged creatures circled lower and lower. I thought, “Am I caught in some trap and about to be food?” There was no way to escape where I was. I closed my eyes, since I thought, “This is it for me, time to let go now”.
With my still closed eyes, I realized that these whisperings were being directly communicated into my mind. How is that possible? Still not clear what was being communicated to me. I waited. Still nothing, not being eaten alive, or ripped to shreds with hooked beaks and claws. I opened my eyes. The moment I did, I saw the two winged creatures, which I could now see were very bird-like.
They immediately took the form seen in this photo. Before I could wonder what this meant, a clear message, not in words, but in pictures was sent at the same time. The message was, “You’ve ended up here by accident and you must go back immediately. We are holding open the portal for you to return, since you have not completed your mission yet and you must return immediately to do so. If you do not agree to complete your mission, you will be sent back to start over and may never become free to evolve beyond the world you were in.”
I had one thought, “What on earth is going on?” One more message came, “You are not on earth. RETURN NOW!” In a flash of a blink, I was sent through the portal. On the next blink, I was sitting on the roots of a tree, where I often meditate. I walked to the spot where I’d been overcome with dizziness at the creek. The deep pool of water had disappeared. The area where it had been was completely changed. I breathed a sigh of relief. Maybe I just went too deep into meditation that day. Yes, that’s what it was, as I tried to convince myself, while that little voice inside me said, “You know that’s not true”.
I enjoyed reading this interpretation of the image. I once remember being super exhausted and lost in a camping trip when I was 10 years old and a lot of unsettling thoughts were circling in my mind. This reminded me a little bit of that time lol.
Yes indeed I guess most of us can relate to this kind of scenario. I know what You mean I was lost once as a kid in a deserted place and had the same kind of thoughts going through my head

I started roaming around alone while everyone else was busy setting up camp and suddenly I went too deep into the forest and then tried to think about how I could go back and eventually I did get back on my own after some time.
Oh not fun! I bet once you relaxed a bit, you were able to find your way out.
Yup exactly! Once I started using my senses, I was able to make my way back. Nine stay careful around ravines btw 😆

LOLOL! I hadn't thought of it as anything, but I can see it now. It's funny you ask about near death experience. I've been discussing that with a few people recently, all have had NDE's. Maybe that crept into my story without my being consciously aware of it. That's interesting.
I would say the protagonist was not aware of dying, not really aware of what happened. At the same time, aware that they must return to complete an agreement and could not leave until that was concluded.

The stories we hear plays in the subconscious mind and shows up in our expressions and emotions.
Maybe the passage was smooth to realize that he was dead, most often these experiences are clouded in mystery because they are explainable by nature.

All different stories from different people. It was interesting because they are friends and I love personal stories of any kind. I agree that the subconscious mind does that. I've watched it play out over and over again. 😂

That's interesting. Different beings? I'm wondering what kind. In all the years I've meditated, I've never had the experience of meeting different beings, so I'm very curious.

Early Bird Breakfast - a pun story
Iggy the eagle yawned widely as her enthusiastic dad flew in search of breakfast.
"You're not worming out of this Iggy." her father cackled.
Iggy groaned. "Do we have to get up this early to catch prey?"
"We can always prey at the church." Her dad replied.
Iggy took a deep breath, "Dad stop it, !"
"We live in an eagalitarian society Iggy, why not show off if you're talonted?"
But he looked crestfallen while delivering the line seeing Iggy's eyeroll.
Iggy smiled slowly as she soared behind her father.
"Because dad puns should be Ill-eagle."

I remember seeing a similar episode on Charlie's Angels. Sarah didn't fall, though, they got sick of her shit is what happened and they pushed her over the edge. Those soaring birds were Lucy and Anne flyin middle fingers at her.

Worlds Apart
Please don't get me wrong. I did not ask her to, in fact, I tried to stop her. But I confess, when she chose to fly with me and as I watched her wings grow, as she writhed in pain, tears streaming down her already wet cheeks, her bird form crushing, annihilating her fish form, I cried with her. But only part of that was from sadness seeing her in so much pain through the transition. My tears were mostly joy. To be loved without condition by your soul mate, is that not your ultimate destination in life?
Do not ask me how two different beings can come together to be one. I have no answers to the universe's games. When I was granted a wish from The One, I could have chosen to fly away, I should have made that choice but I was a coward and I let her choose. Yes, I knew that it will not be forever, I knew so many things, but I also felt and my heart was stronger than my mind.
For years, we flew together high above the mountains and deserts, soaking in the wonders of Mother Gaia. We watched animals with four legs and two from a distance. We bathed in sunlight and rain. Our love manifested and multiplied into nestlings who went on to make their own journey. The only thing I wished them as they flapped their wings and flew away is they never find their heart in another world.
Nothing lasts forever and my time to leave is nearing. She does not know yet, for what is the point of telling when neither of us can change our destiny. The One whispered through the wind in my ear and I know it is close. I know she can never be with me on the other side. I have always known and she will too when the time comes and she returns to the waters where she belongs.

title: at the cliffs of moher
i met her a few months back while travelling. we had some fun together for a few days but split and went our separate ways. while back at home working to save enough for my next journey she was still in my mind. we wrote often and i suggested we meet again and cycle around ireland for the summer...
the grass really is greener in lisdoonvarna. we have been cycling and tenting in the countless backroads of ireland for over three weeks now. the sun is shining, wildflowers are in bloom all around us and love is in the air. we are sitting at the cliffs of moher with our feet dangling over the vertical edge and the sea 200 meters below. we are dizzy from the height, dizzy from love. we are young and free without a care. life is fantastic.
the straight line of the hoizon is interrupted only by the aran islands. the simplicity of it is mesmerizing. the distinct divide between the sea and sky is like the past and future and we are at the thin line of the present. my thoughts turn from the recent past to the future. we have money in our pockets for another three weeks but what lies beyond that? i've never considered settling, i shun obligation. i cherish my freedom but what is life without love? apart from precious moments like this are we free in love? how does this all work?
viewing the spectacular horizon is supposed to clear my thoughts but instead it muddles them. rapt in the moment as we lay back in the grass with our feet still over the edge, a pair of raptors soar above us in the updraft from the cliffs. we watch them gracefully ascending. instantly i know, this is the one.
This is one of the first things I read this am. I'm glad I did.

Maybe you should add in the details and make it more interesting.

My kids had a pact from a very young age that 'you can't tell mom for 7 years' As they grew up they would laughing look at each other and say 'Has it been 7 YEARS?' and I'd usually be shocked at their shenanigans. But it did keep them from being tattle tales!

Hmm they are hungry birds .. looking for food.. Perhaps you could tell us a bit more about their struggle and why they were so hungry and I guess you forgot the title as well , give it a try and widen the perspective of your story, I am hungry for more. 😁
Just this morning I heard a hawk sing very loudly as it flew by and I told my son that it was because he was very hungry. I came up with that because you hadn't heard those birds so often and singing so loudly before. Because in our country there is a great economic crisis and in the world an imbalance in the ecosystems has occurred, I related everything and interpreted both facts in that way 🙂
