I very rarely see these birds in winter. Mostly I see their close relatives - redpolls. But on that winter day, I managed to meet this pair of siskins. They were a male and a female. As you can see, their sexual dimorphism is pronounced.

Males are bright yellow with a black spot on the forehead. And the females are painted in a faded yellow color, and they have small stripes on the sides of the body, and there is no black spot on the forehead.
Birds pounced on birch catkins and ate their seeds.
