RE: Tales of the Urban Explorer: The Mansion in the Fields

This was my first discovery of Hive's urbexing community as well, and wow, was it an amazing find!

This looks to have been a beautiful home in its day, with high-end construction and fixtures. A conservatory? In a farmhouse? Over here in the US only mansions have such extravagances. It's a damn shame some asshat felt the need to break and rip apart everything they could reach, but sadly not unusual.

I haven't done any urbexing in many years, but I would love to be close enough to see this one in person.

You used to?

Oh yes! Ghost towning too! I have a serious fascination with most things old and decaying...particularly buildings!

Where I live you're likely to come across all sorts of things just by going for a hike in the woods. Usually the only thing left standing from an old homestead is the brick or stone chimney, but once in a while you can still see more.

Do you have any bottle houses over there (houses built primarily/entirely out of empty soda or beer bottles)? We have a few over here, and they're some of my favorites!

Can't say I have heard of those, they would quickly collapse due to our terrible weather.

I dunno about that, they're pretty sturdily built! Some are even pretty. Check out this one (not my photo, hence the link): Calico Bottle House

Hmm, that didn't work very well. Let's try a simple copy-paste. https://www.americansouthwest.net/california/calico/bottle-house_l.html
