Manilkara zapota, commonly called medlar, chicozapote or ácana. or simply medlar is a perennial fruit tree of the family Rosaceae. its fruit is the níspola. It is found in warm climates. its brown fruits and rough skin. The pulp is aromatic and of good flavor.
INDICATIONS:
The seed of the fruit has great diuretic power. To prepare it, grind well with a mortar, add sugar and two glasses of hot water, producing in this form an horchata that is used in inflammations of the urinary tract.
The bark is astringent and also has febrifugal powers.
