Every Hive matters

in #blog2 years ago (edited)

Think about all the late nights, all the early mornings. Hive isn't cheap, it isn't worthless, it isn't infinite. It's rare, it's valuable, it is expensive. It requires the human in me to connect with the human in you.

Hive has value because of what we believe about it. Hive represents our creativity, our knowledge, our expertise. It is a token for our social reputation, and yes it has value but how much more it will have one day, after we have put so many ideas inside it.

Hive is a place to build a legacy, and hopefully it will continue to live on and thrive in the abundance of our best efforts. Why? Hive is only what we make it. It is a canvas, a blank sheet, a new digital space to create dynamic web pages.

If this is the best that it can get then it is time to leave. If the possibilities have only been scratched then there will undoubtedly be much more to come. I have so many ideas that I wish I could deploy and I'm daily seeking knowledge that will allow me to create the designs of my imagination.

Some of you may have seen that I've built a couple simple games that are fun to play. My website is not hosting any right now And a new website I've built just redirects to a Hive community on on PeakD.

Time I spend on Web2 social media seems like such a waste and something that I am trying to stop doing so much. In 2022 we need to give life one big push, and be the human we want to be. It is never too late to start again more intelligently.

With regard just to social media let us consider these choices we now have. Shift Messenger to Signal or Telegram. Instead of Twitter use dBuzz. Trade Instagram for Dappler. Facebook to Ecency. LinkedIn to LeoFinance. YouTube to 3speak!

Consider public messages, and private messages. On Hive you can send an encrypted message using a # at the beginning of a small transfer. The reciever can read it with their memo key. Privacy matters but there are many public ledgers and we must think about risks/benefits when using technology.

Facebook has become an array of tools that are fast, convenient, and connect everyone. As they attempt to force everyone into their imagined metaverse, the real metaverse is already evolving as web3 and Hive can literally be the web-pages that can link these decentralized projects together.

The LeoFinance community is consistently a great place to find good information but this is only the beginning. What many don't yet fully realize is that we welcome almost all crypto adopters and for those new to crypto, Hive is familiar enough to work with that someone can get started.

Later when they are prepared to send and recieve transfers, or explore what staking means, they will look at their wallet and realize they are already doing it. Hive interfaces currently are slick and quick and that is good, but there could be so many more ways to build an interface.

If you havent seen what @dlux-io is doing, make sure you have Keychain enabled and check it out. I had an idea last night and I might just make it to see what people think.

I am still skeptical about splinterlands, I've watched its development from the very beginning but I am just a simple splinter peasant with a booster pack. I've got a few dark energy crystals and I look up in awe at the feudal tournaments where the heavyweights clash. They have so many new users, and I wonder what Hive will be like when there are multiple games as big as splinterlands is now.

Actifit is another Hive game, really. Pizza is a social game, if you buy and stake pizza you can become a delivery guy. Give away slices of pizza to users and make people feel great. Spend pizza tokens on Steam Games! How cool is this. What else can you imagine?

I built a few games, aura despell, destroy earth, political post. These are just free and for fun, but I want to get one connected to Hive when they go online next. I have lots of ideas and if my 2D games get more interest then 3D games will be the next step.

I've been working in Unreal Engine and would like to develop and launch some VR games for Hive users to login and play. This is one of my interests I would ideally like a team to help create a game lab.

Although the fork was unexpected, users have migrated to their preferred chains and the reason I came to Hive was that I could not justify continuing to compose my content on a chain that was compromised and attacked. I saw community developers move to the Hive chain and so did I, and we have been building it out. Right away I started creating graphics that could be used in posts to promote itself.

And the next phase of Hive will be however we build it out. New branding for new front ends. Participating in communities you have never explored before. Getting involved in the projects and tokens that other users are seeking support for.

Voting for witnesses that support decentralization and censorship resistance. The control is supposed to be in our hands, and how we push the buttons is what makes the wheels and gears turn.

If we want it to go one way, we can talk about that. If we want it to go another way, talk about that. Everything becomes real in the mind of the reader, so consider what we are writing about can be expanded upon. We are setting an example for new users, so challenge yourself to write about the best ideas you can.

Hive is valuable because it's made of the ideas we stamp into it. Hive represents my proof of brain, my thoughts and my efforts intellectually. If the world wide web was Hive in 1995 can you imagine where we would be now? Now realize it's 1995 right now.

What web-page will you write for the world to see? Every users account has their wallet in pocket, and is searching to discover what you have to offer the world.

I have a lot of ideas but I want to leave you with one last thought. I think we should all reach out to farmers markets this next year and create communities where vendors can post about what they have and where they will be.

There could be many communities and there is no reason multiple groups could not collaborate with one another. Food is so important, but consider that there should also be a group for mechanics. What groups are you part of on Facebook, and can we encourage them to migrate to Hive?

The next 1 million Hive users will want to explore communities and they might discover yours!
