উলচাপাড়ায় আবারও...
গত বছরের কোনো এক লেখায় আমি ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার একটা গ্রামের কথা বর্ননা করেছিলাম। মাত্র কয়েক ঘন্টা ছিলাম সেখানে। অথচ ছবির মতো সুন্দর সেই গ্রামটি আমাকে অনেক মুগ্ধ করেছিল। গ্রামের রাস্তা ধরে যখন ঘুরাঘুরি করছিলাম, তখন প্রকৃতির সৌন্দর্যে অবাক হয়ে গিয়েছিলাম। বার বার শুধু মনে হচ্ছিল, "ইশ, আমাদের দেশের গ্রামগুলো কত সুন্দর!" সেই সৌন্দর্যের টানে গতকাল আবারও সেই গ্রামে গিয়েছিলাম।
গ্রামটির নাম ছিল উলচা পাড়া। এই গ্রামের ইতিহাস অবশ্য অনেক পুরানো। বিশেষ করে এখানে একটু পুরানো মসজিদ আছে। মসজিদের নির্মাণ কৌশল ও মসজিদে ব্যবহৃত ইট দেখে মনে হয় যে, মসজিদটি খুব সম্ভব সপ্তাদশ শতাব্দীতে নির্মিত । মসজিদে পাওয়া শিলালিপি পাঠ থেকে জানা যায় যে, ১১৪০ হিজী (১৭২৭-২৮ খ্রিঃ) সালে জনৈক পশ্চিম দেশীয় বনিক কর্তৃক মসজিদটি নির্মিত হয়েছিল ।
Rebirth: An unfulfilled desire.
If I had a chance to live again, I'd undoubtedly ask to be born as a lowly farmer's son in Europe during the renaissance.
With hair full of dirt and eyes full of dreams, perhaps helping poor dear father out in the fields would be how my life will pass for a certain period of time. I’d grow up as a playful child, running across the fields with my brothers and sisters, playing like there was no tomorrow.
A very traditional meal
We grew up having this food every now and then. Also, as our cuisine is all about spicy food and a lot of different flavors so this always gives me comfort.
Last week I went outside for some work, took a break, visited a shopping mall, and found a local restaurant that offers a wide variety of traditional food. What could be best as a meal than trying something traditional, right?

Rotten gnashers
I really used to think that I'm one of those people who love to take good care of their pearly whites. The regular brushing, low to no sweets almost, always rinsing after a meal, and what not.
Yet, here I am with an extremely annoying tooth ache. Sometimes it can get quite painful too, some of these meds that I'm taking surely are helping though. But these meds aren't cheap, not when you compare them to the available and much "regular" meds.
